Humans of the Varley: Paul Keeling

Having grown up in Markham, and more specifically, being a resident of Unionville for more than 30 years, the Varley Art Gallery has been that wonderful place for all things art just around the corner. I watched the construction of the gallery more than 20 years ago and I am very proud to have the Varley as part of our community.

Having spent more than four decades in the graphic & design business at the corporate level, when I was asked to join the art auction committee at the Varley, it seemed like a good fit. Eventually Co-chairing and then Chairing the event gave me the opportunity to work with many great people in the community, not to mention the outstanding staff at the Varley. In addition to the activities of the Art Auction, I spent a number of years as a Board Member of the Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham. The Varley gave me the opportunity to help expose the arts to our community. It is and will remain a key hub for the arts through its presentation of exciting works of art and exhibits and the amazing array of programs offered to both children and adults.
