Dr. Sylvester and Mrs. Pauline Chuang Curatorial Scholarship

The Dr. Sylvester and Mrs. Pauline Chuang Curatorial Scholarship is a paid internship that supports the next generation of curators, art historians, and collections professionals through meaningful, hands-on experience in a public art gallery setting. Designed for emerging professionals, the scholarship offers opportunities to engage with exhibitions, collections, and curatorial practices while developing research skills, professional expertise, and a unique curatorial voice. Through immersive learning and mentorship, participants will gain valuable experience that helps prepare them for careers in the arts and cultural sector.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in a post-graduate program in Art History, Curatorial Studies, Museum Studies, Museum and Cultural Management, or similar program
  • Reside in Ontario, and be willing to travel to the Varley Art Gallery of Markham to execute duties as required
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
