General Interest Volunteers

    General Interest / Special Events Volunteers
    Each year the Varley-McKay Art Foundation and the Varley Art Gallery host different events to fundraise and to promote art in the community.  They include:

    • The Varley Fine Art Auction in May
    • Garden in White Dinner Party in July
    • Exhibition Opening Receptions (January, May, September)
    • Community Outreach Programs during public holidays (eg. Family Day, Canada Day, Simcoe Day and Labour Day)
    • Pecha Kucha Night
    • Special concerts and lectures in conjunction with the exhibitions

    All these events would not be as successful without the help from our general interest / special events volunteers.

    As a special events volunteer, your responsibilities may involve:

    • Setting up and closing down venues
    • Preparing and serving food and drinks
    • Setting up and monitoring silent auction stations
    • Promotion and outreach
    • Preparing materials for art-related activities
    • Greeting our guests and providing information / direction as needed
